Behnam Taebi appointed as member of Dutch Scientific Climate Council

On the recommendation of Minister Jetten for Climate and Energy, the Dutch government has approved the appointment of nine new members of the Scientific Climate Council (WKR). Among them are TU Delft researchers Kornelis Blok and Behnam Taebi. The council advises the government on climate policy, based on independent scientific expertise.

ESDiT Research line leader Wijnand IJsselsteijn has been awarded the Distinguished NIAS-Lorentz Fellowship 2024/25

Wijnand IJsselsteijn has been awarded the Distinguished NIAS-Lorentz Fellowship 2024/25 for his research on progressively lifelike virtual embodiments in the metaverse. During his fellowship, from September 2024 onwards, he will unpack and analyze the psychological effects and ethical values at stake in relation to the introduction of virtual and augmented reality – together referred to as eXtended Reality, or XR – at a large scale and with unprecedented quality.

On 6 & 7 October the ESDIT2022 conference took place. We had 189 participants from 24 countries, who discussed the ethics of socially disruptive technologies in 14 program tracks.
